Clairette de Bellegarde (40 ha) is één van de kleinste AOC’s in Frankrijk die maar een handjevol producenten heeft. Hoewel hij naast Costière de Nîmes ligt, hoort hij nog steeds bij de Languedoc, terwijl Costière de Nîmes in 2004 naar de Rhône is overgestapt. Soms is Clairette de hoofddruif in de witte Chateauneuf du Pape, in dit gebied is het de enige toegestane druif. In deze wijn bereikt hij een zeldzaam niveau, heel dik en vol in de mond met pittig exotisch fruit en rookachtig peper. De lange nasmaak doet denken aan een grootte witte Bourgogne. Erg aanbevolen als genotwijn! |
